Anime Central 2018: Viz Media to Bring Sailor Moon Movies to US Theaters This Summer

Sailor Moon celebration continues!

Usually, Anime Central gets the short end of the stick when it comes to big announcements. Stuck in between the beginning of con season and the summer peak, ACEN is generally stuck in a weird limbo that leaves them high and dry most years despite the healthy industry presence that is there every year. This year though, Viz Media refused to let the fans who flocked to Viz Media’s Sailor Moon panel go away empty handed.

That’s right Moonies! As announced at their panel this afternoon, Viz Media is teaming up with Fathom Events in order to bring the Sailor Moon S movie and Sailor Moon Super S movie to theaters across the nation this summer! You may squee for joy now. It’s ok, I’ll wait.

While most of the details (including which cities will be showing the movies) is scarce, we do know that the Sailor Moon S movie will be shown on July 28th and 30th along with a special encore of the Sailor Moon R movie. Just a few days later, the Sailor Moon Super S movie will be shown along with the special bonus short Ami’s First Love on August 4th and 6th.

Stay tuned to this website for more details as they become available!
