Nana Mizuki Uploads 90 Second Video to Introduce New Single “Blue Rose”

Nana Mizuki

If you’re a hardcore anime fan, you’re likely familiar with the name Nana Mizuki. Making her debut as a voice actress in 1998’s Flint the Time Detective, Mizuki has gone on to voice iconic characters including Rue in the 2002 series Princess Tutu, Wrath in Fullmetal Alchemist, Fate Testarossa in Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha and literally dozens of other series.

If you’re not familiar with her work in anime though, you might be familiar with her work as a singer. Training as an enka singer starting at age five, she eventually went on to release her first single titled “Omoi” in late 2000 before releasing her first full album, “Supersonic Girl“, in late 2001.

Since that time, Mizuki has continued to voice characters in plenty of anime and release album after album with at least one (2009’s Ultimate Diamond) reaching number one on the Oricon charts which brings us to the present day.

Earlier this weekend, Mizuki uploaded a 90 second video to YouTube which introduces her latest single, “Blue Rose“. The single is the theme song for the “New Mareless Project” of a popular quiz RPG app called The World of Mystic Wiz.

If you can’t speak Japanese and only care about hearing the new song, you can skip ahead to the 42 second mark to hear it.

Currently, Ms. Mizuki can be heard voicing the character Ann Takamaki in the series Persona 5: The Animation which is currently being simulcast by Crunchyroll.
