Boarding School Juliet Key Heroine Visual

Japan is buzzing with news this morning regarding new broadcast details for two upcoming series, Kishuku Gakkou no Juliet (Boarding School Juliet) and another series that we reported on a couple of days ago, The Promised Neverland.

Starting with the former, it’s been revealed that Boarding School Juliet will be an October 2018 series produced by Liden Films (Akashic Records of Bastard Magical Instructor, The Heroic Legend of Arslan, Miss Monochrome). Other crew members include:

Director – Seiki Takuno (Love and Lies)
Assistant Director – Fumiaki Usui (Love and Lies)
Scripts – Takao Yoshioka (Ikki Tousen)
Character Designs – Yuuki Morimoto (Miss Monochrome)
Music – Masaru Yokoyama (Your lie in April)

Not only that however but we also got the two main cast members (character names first):

Romio Inuzaka – Yuuki Ono (Shun in Ace of Diamond, Taiga in Kuroko’s Basketball)
Juliet Percia – Ai Kayano (Menma in anohana: The Flower We Saw That Day, Darkness in KONOSUBA – God’s blessing on this wonderful world!)

Originally a manga, Boarding School Juliet has been running in Bessatsu Shounen Magazine since 2015 with story and artwork by Yousuke Kaneda. Licensed by Kodansha, the series has been available digitally in North America since April 2018. Kodansha describes the story as:

At Dahlia Academy, a prestigious boarding school attended by students of two feuding countries—the Eastern Nation of Touwa, and the Principality of West—Romio Inuzuka, leader of the dorms’ Touwa first-years, wishes for a romance that can never be. For his ladylove is none other than his arch-enemy, Juliet Persia, leader of the dorms’ West first-years! Is Inuzuka ready to risk it all to confess his feelings? And even if Persia somehow agrees to go out with them, how long can they keep a forbidden relationship under wraps?!

Next up we have a follow up on a story that we reported on a couple of days ago, the anime adaptation of The Promised Neverland! In the original announcement, all we knew for certain is that this manga series was going to get an anime adaptation. We now know that the series will be airing in the Noitamina block (which means that anime fans in the US will be watching it on Amazon Prime) in January 2019.

As a reminder for those of you who didn’t catch the news the first time around, The Promised Neverland first debuted in August 2016 and currently has seven volumes in Japan. The series was created by Kaiu Shirai and illustrated by Posuka Demizu. Viz Media currently holds the rights to the series and describes the story as:

In THE PROMISED NEVERLAND, Emma, Norman, and Ray are the brightest kids at the Grace Field House orphanage. And under the care of the woman they refer to as “Mom,” all the kids have enjoyed a comfortable life. Good food, clean clothes, and the perfect environment to learn—what more could an orphan ask for? One day, though, Emma and Norman uncover the dark truth of the outside world they are forbidden from seeing.
